Bubbles With A Splash Of Pink: J Vineyards Annual Pink Party

Healdsburg August 9, 2014 --- The pink carpet was rolled out and hung above were twinkling crystal chandeliers that lit the perfectly straight path into all things pink. Saturday night at
J Vineyards & Winery annual Pink Party guests enjoyed a celebration of bubbles, new friendships, and paired tastings. Even the fountain burst forth in its own special pink!
Guests began the evening by walking the pink carpet with their flutes brimming with J’s renowned Brut Rose sparkling wines. At the end of the carpet choices had to be made as all directions led to a different fantasy of food, drink, and cozy ambience. The evening included specialty pairings of culinary delights that were prepared by J’s Executive Chef, Erik Johnson, a major proponent of local and sustainable farming and fishing. In addition to Erik’s preparations, the Hog Island Oyster Company joined in the fun offering their Tomales Bay oysters on the half shell.
The pairings were abundant, delicious, masterfully prepared and were displayed within the many terraces, all created for comfort and informality, an important and fundamental theme to Judy Jordan’s vision of J Vineyards & Winery. The pairings included:
- Cuvee 20/Brut Rose with Hog Island oysters on the Terrace
- 2012 STRATA Chardonnay with shrimp rolls in the Tasting Room
- 2011 Pinot Meunier with Chicken Roulade in the Signature Bar
- Brut Rose with Hog Island oysters in the Signature Bar
- 2013 Russian River Pinot Gris with heirloom beans and quail eggs in the Legacy Lounge
- 2013 Vin Gris with smoked salmon flatbread on the terrace
- BIN 1008 sparkling and Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir with cheese and desserts in the fabulous Bubble Room.
The Slim Jenkins Band played throughout the event while guests danced and pranced in their pink attire. For dessert, Brut Rose snow cones were served and if that didn’t suit your fancy, then you could have a good old-fashioned pink cotton candy.
While J Vineyards & Winery celebrates its bubbles, it also celebrates the fact that it is a sustainable, woman owned winery. Judy Jordan started the winery with an emphasis on green practices and today it is a certified Green Winery and certified Sustainable Winery. They are carbon neutral and support farming practices that are environmentally sensitive, economically viable and socially responsible by minimal use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers.
CellarPass recently voted J’s with the distinction of Best Food and Wine Experience. Seated pairings in the Bubble Room are available along with terrace tastings and pairings.
