Left Bank Brasserie in Menlo Park to Host a Filipino Franco Dinner

Left Bank Brasserie in Menlo Park will host a Filipino Franco dinner on Thursday, August 17 beginning 5:00 p.m. with open seating continuing until 10:00 p.m. The $50.00 prix fixe meal with three courses will be served family style with all dishes except dessert brought to the table at once. The price excludes tax, gratuity and alcoholic beverages. The restaurant's regular menu will also be available that evening. Reservations are suggested but not required and can be made by calling (650) 473-6543 or emailing to ereilly@leftbank.com.

The restaurant's Chef, Brendy Monsada, has created a menu designed to showcase and celebrate his ethnic heritage. Appetizers will include Pork Sisig (slow roasted pork belly and pig ears, spicy labuyo chili, sugar cane vinaigrette), Pancit Bihon (stir fried noodles in soy sauce, snow peas, carrots, celery, quail eggs, scallions) and Inihaw Na Rellenong Pusit (grilled stuffed squid marinated in sweet soy, galanga, ground pork, mirepoix, baby heirloom tomatoes). The main courses, served with rice, will be Pritong Lapu-Lapu (deep fried grouper marinated in lemongrass, heirloom tomato salsa, sweet chili, soy, and palm vinaigrette); Pinakbet (traditional vegetable stew with puréed anchovy paste, okra, eggplant, tomatoes, Asian long beans, bitter melon, sweet potato tendrils, kalabasa, garnished with pork chicharron) and Angus Beef Kaldereta (slow braised boneless beef short ribs, savory tomato and peanut sauce, Chef’s special spice mix, sweet peas, stuffed olives, pineapple chunks). For dessert, diners can enjoy Nilatikan (baked sweet rice, banana leaves, caramelized coconut jam, latik) and Leche Flan (with fresh egg yolks, condensed and evaporated milk, caramel syrup).

Non-alcoholic kalamansi juice and pineapple juice will also be included with the dinner.
